Sharjah has some decent places to eat for visitors, and as with the other parts of the UAE, much of the best cuisine on offer is international.
Note that Sharjah is dry, which means that no alcohol is served in any of the city’s restaurants, including those located inside hotels.
Near the airport
Aside from the odd roadside café or service station, there are very few restaurants of note within easy reach of Sharjah airport.
The Sharjah Golf and Shooting Club (www.golfandshootingshj.com, +971 6 ) has a recently-built, attractive restaurant serving international dishes. The club about 2 km from the airport and the taxi fare should be around Dhs 40-50 ($11-$13.60) and take no more than 15 minutes each way
Further afield
The best places to eat in Sharjah can be found near to the main tourist areas such as Qanat al-Qasba, the Khaled Lagoon and the Heritage Area. All the usual fast food outlets are also present in Sharjah, including McDonalds, Burger King, KFC, Pizza Hut and Subway – most of these can be found inside the larger malls.
