Arriving and departing
Departing from Kuwait International Airport
- There are four check-in zones at Kuwait airport, all of which are clearly marked on the outside of the entrance to the terminal. Your check-in zone depends on your airline – check the signs when you arrive to see which you should use.
- After entering the airport, passengers will find themselves within the airport mall area (see our Shopping section for more on this) which has a range of shops, restaurants and services, including a currency exchange, ATMs and information counters.
- Kuwait Airways has a dedicated First and Business class check-in, which is marked on the outside of the terminal as you arrive.
- Self-service check-in machines for Kuwait Airways passengers with hand baggage only can be found inside the main entrance to the airport.
- Porterage services are available for 500 fils ($2) per person. If you want to use a trolley without a porter, it’s free.
- Bag-wrapping machines are located in the check-in zones and cost 500 fills ($2) per bag
- At the time of writing there was no e-gate system for frequent Kuwait flyers, but the security queues are generally very small.
- There’s a security check before going through to the Departures area, with a fast-track queue for First and Business class passengers.
- Once you’ve passed through security checks, you’ll find yourself in the main departures area. Read our Inside the Airport section for information on shopping, eating, lounges and other services.
- A booking desk for Hala Kuwait meet-and-assist services is located near to check-in zones 2 and 3. Hala Kuwait offers arrival, departure and VIP services to passengers which include fast-track escort through immigration and baggage claim, a dedicated check-in area and use of the Pearl Lounge. The VIP service also includes a chauffeur-driven car pick-up service. For more information, or to book, call +965 4372410.
