Inside the airport
Whilst there aren't any gourmet dining options, a broad range of eating and drinking venues are on offer inside Dubai’s airport if you’re on a connection and need to refuel. Most accept international credit cards, so there’s no need to withdraw local currency if you’re just passing through:
- A fast-food court can be found between Gates 13 and 15. It has a variety of outlets, including the usual McDonalds-style fare, but also some Lebanese, Italian, Thai and Indian options.
- Pop in for a quick pre-flight drink at the Irish Village pub, on Departures level at Gate 22. It’s open 24 hours a day, and features the standard wooden furniture and Guinness paraphernalia.
- The Safir restaurant is used for Emirates passengers on longer connections or delayed flights who qualify for a free meal. It’s also open for normal passengers.
- Inside the airport hotel is the Wings bar, which is often more peaceful than the bustling Departures area below. It also has good views of taxiing planes. To get there, go up the escalator at Gate 22.
- Indulge in some smoked salmon, caviar or sushi at the Seafood Bar, which is at the top of the escalators after duty-free, going in the direction of gates 25-50. It only has a few places, so you may have to make do with take-away.
- Costa Coffee also runs a few cafes inside both Terminals 1 and 2, and you'll also find the odd Dunkin' Donuts stand.
