Arriving and departing
It's very unlikely that you would ever need to transfer between Terminals 1 and 2 at Dubai International Airport. All Emirates flights, which account for most of the transit traffic in Dubai, arrive and depart from Terminal 1.
If you do need to get from one terminal to the other, then there’s a small shuttle bus which makes the trip. Ask for more details at the respective information desk, as there is no published schedule for the bus.
Transferring to Sharjah International Airport
An increasing number of flyers are using Dubai and Sharjah airports as transfer points in the UAE – for instance arriving in Dubai and then departing from Sharjah to take advantage of the cheap fares on Air Arabia.
There is no real way of using public transport to get between the two airports, so by far the easiest way to get from Dubai airport to Sharjah airport is by taxi.
Depending on traffic and the time of the day, the trip will take anywhere from 20 minutes to an hour, and should cost no more than Dhs 50 ($13.50). All taxis departing from Dubai's airport are metered at identical rates - see our transport options section for details.
