Transport options
From Doha International Airport
- By far the most straightforward way to get from Doha airport to your final destination is by taxi. These depart from outside of the Arrivals area. The orange and white Karwa taxis are all metered, and you can expect to pay around QR20-40 ($5-11) for a trip to most parts of Doha. Tipping is generally not necessary.
- For a more luxurious ride, hire one of the private ‘limousine’ cars waiting outside the airport. These aren’t actually limousines, but are just bigger and more comfortable taxis. To book one in advance, call Doha Limousine on +974 483 9999. They’re slightly more expensive than normal taxis and are also metered.
- A number of car rental firms, including the main international chains, offer car pick-up at Doha airport. To search and compare the best rates and availability, use our booking engine.
- Many of the city’s hotels have their own shuttle buses which collect guests from the airport. These should be pre-arranged with your hotel.
- A public bus route, run by Mowasalat (www.mowasalat.com) stops outside the main terminal building and connects the airport with central Doha. It’s a fairly regular and very affordable service, but probably not the most efficient way of getting to the city if you’re in transit. There is no online route map available.
- There is no tram, metro or rail network in Qatar.
