Getting around Doha

  • The easiest way for the short-stay visitor to get around Doha is by taxi. Finding one is relatively straightforward apart from at peak hours, when it’s worth pre-booking a taxi in advance – try Karwa on +974 458 8888. Fares within the city itself are very reasonably compared to the US or Europe.
  • A bus system does operate around Doha, but for new arrivals it can be tough to navigate. There is no online route map available, and the services can often be crowded and irregular. We recommend sticking to taxis.
  • Buses are the only form of public transport in Qatar – there is no tram, metro or rail network.
  • You can also rent a car in Qatar if you're in town for a few days. To compare prices on different rental companies and make a reservation, use our search engine.
