Doha International Airport has a range of lounges for departing and transit passengers, all of which have refreshments and reading material. Invitations are issued at check-in for relevant passengers – ask if you’re not sure which lounge applies to you.

  • The Oryx Lounge is located on the ground floor of Departures, just after passport control. It’s for First and Business Class passengers on all airlines except Qatar Airways, while any economy passenger - including customers of the Al Maha service - can use the lounge by paying $27 for every 6 hours.
  • The Qatar Airways Silver lounge is for Economy passengers holding Qatar Airways Silver Cards. It’s upstairs in the Departures area.
  • Just across from the Silver lounge is the Gold lounge, which is set aside for Qatar Airways Gold Card holders travelling Economy.

PREMIUM TERMINAL

One of the best features about Doha airport is its Premium Terminal, which is located next to the main airport itself. Opened in 2006, the terminal is used by all First and Business Class travellers on Qatar Airways (and not any other airlines) who are departing or connecting through Doha airport. If the final destination of your journey is Doha, then you’ll use the normal terminal when arriving.

Note that both your inbound and outbound flights must be in First or Business Class to be able to use the terminal.

Perks and features of the terminal include:

  • Seated check-in and meet-and-greet service upon arrival at the airport
  • E-gate passport service identical to that in the main airport
  • BMW 7 series service to and from aircraft
  • Business centre with individual workstations, private meeting rooms and a large conference room with video conference facilities.
  • Wireless internet throughout
  • Duty Free shopping area
  • Cloakroom, luggage store, pressing service and shoe-polishing
  • Games room with Sony PlayStations
  • 24-hour doctor on site
  • Nursery with fully-trained nannies
  • Smoking room
  • Separate First and Business Class lounges. Both have fine dining with local and international cuisine, as well as showers.

A highly appealing ‘relaxation area’ for First Class travellers, which features a spa, Jacuzzi, sauna and showers, as well as five bedrooms. Massages are also available upon request, as are facial and cosmetic treatments.

There is no hotel inside the airport, although the Premium Terminal does have a few individual bedrooms which are available on a first-come, first-served basis.

Dear Time in transit kindly correct the info re Al Maha Services - departures - pax will not get an automatic entry into the Oryx lounge - there is an additional charge of qar90 (usd25) per pax per six hour stay - also the Premium Terminal is for the sole use of pax flight First or Business class on Qatar Airways only. Pse do let me know when the changes have been made! Many thanks Vimla Narsamuloo Manager Al Maha Services

Hi Vimla - the relevant page has been updated, thanks for your input. Please keep us up to date of any other changes in Al Maha pricing or policy.

My friend has told me that he was denied access to the Qatar lounge although he had joined the Qatar Privelege Club. Would you tell me what the criteria for entering is, since I'll be there in a few months' time and would like to know in advance if there are special requirements for access. Thank you for your kind attention.

I am a travelagent and we have clients who will go to the Maledivs with Qatar airways. They will have a stopover at Doha airport for 5 hours. They asked us for the oryx lounge! Do we have to book it in advance and where? Or can they just pay for it at the airport? Does it cost 19 Dollars per person? Thank you
