Arriving and departing
Staying in the airport
Use this section if you’re changing flights in Doha airport and don’t want to leave the terminal between flights.
- If you’re connecting through Doha airport and flying economy class on Qatar Airways, then you’ll need to follow the signs for the transfer area when you enter the airport terminal.
- Once you’ve gone through security, you’ll be directed into the main Departures area. Departure gates are spread over two floors – look on the screens to find the gate number for your onward flight, or check our Inside the Airport guide if you have longer to wait.
- Most passengers should already have boarding cards for their onward flights, but if not, then head to one of the transfer desks or ask one of the airport staff in the area close to passport control.
- Passengers on other airlines with connecting flights should ask at one of the transfer desks for guidance.
Use this section if your final destination is Doha itself, or if you’re on a stopover and have time to leave the airport between flights.
- After disembarking, head to the passport control area in arrivals. You’ll then go through to the baggage claim area, then through customs and out of the airport. Read about Transport Options here.
- There’s a small arrivals duty-free shop close to baggage claim.
- The main arrivals hall, after you’ve come through customs, has a small selection of car rental and hotel counters.
Meet-and greet
Meet-and-greet services in Doha International Airport are managed by Al Maha (www.dohaairport.com, +974 (0)465 6672).
The service costs QR100 ($27) per person, then QR70 ($19) for every additional user in the same group. Arriving passengers are met at the plane and guided to the Al Maha lounge, where staff will organise fast-track passport control and baggage collection. Departing passengers are met at the airport entrance, guided through check-in and given automatic access to the Oryx Lounge (see our Lounges guide). If you’re in transit and want to use the service, then you will be allowed access to the Premium Terminal.
