Transport options
To Beirut airport
There is no reliable form of public transport serving Beirut airport, which means you’re dependent on getting a taxi. These are recognisable by their red number plates.
If you pick up a taxi from the street or from your hotel, then expect to pay anything from LL10,000 ($6.50) to LL30,000 ($20) depending on the time of day and your bartering skills. Tourists are usually charged higher rates than local residents.
It’s probably a better idea to book a taxi in advance, however, especially if you’re leaving at peak times of day or in the middle of the night. Fares are roughly the same across the different companies, the largest of which include Allo Taxi (+961 1 366 661), Safe Taxi (+961 1 337 344) and Lebanon Taxi (+961 1 353 153).
