Transport options
From Beirut airport
There is no public transport serving Beirut airport, so arriving passengers with no pre-arranged transfer will need to get a taxi.
- For the uninitiated, getting a taxi from the airport can be a stressful affair. Upon leaving the arrivals area, you can expect to be swiftly accosted by a crew of drivers competing for your business. Don’t feel pressured into taking the first driver who approaches you, but haggle until you’re happy with the final fare.
- Depending on your final destination in Beirut, expect to pay somewhere between LL20,000 ($13.50) and LL30,000 ($20) for most locations. Tourists will generally be charged more than local residents.
- Taxi drivers know the flight schedules, and will always be around when planes arrive, but if you’d prefer to be on the safe side or don’t like bargaining, then you can book a taxi in advance with a local company. Fares are roughly similar across the different firms, which include Allo Taxi (+961 1 366 661), Safe Taxi (+961 1 337 344) and Lebanon Taxi (+961 1 353 153).
- A number of car rental firms, including the main international firms, offer car pick-up at Beirut airport. To search and compare the best rates and availability, use our booking engine.
- Many of the city’s hotels have their own shuttle buses which collect guests from the airport. These should be pre-arranged with your hotel.
