Arriving and departing
The check-in and departure areas are on the upper level of the airport.
- Before check-in you’ll find a couple of small cafes and a bookshop, although there is actually more choice in terms of eating and drinking options on the Arrivals level, which you can reach by going down the escalator.
- A bureau de change and ATMs can be found before and after check-in.
- At the time of writing there was no e-gate system for frequent flyers in Bahrain airport, although the authorities were in the process of developing one.
- First and Business Class passengers can use a dedicated check-in area. This can be found at the far-end of the check-in hall and offers a seated check-in service with porters.
- Protect your luggage with the bag-wrapping service, which costs BD0.5 ($1.30) and is located in the main check-in hall.
Passengers arriving by coach from Saudi Arabia on pre-boarded flights use a separate entrance to ease congestion. After going through passport control, you will be directed to the normal Departures area used by all other passengers.
