Inside the airport
Abu Dhabi's airport has a full range of communications services, including phone, postal and internet facilities.
- Wireless internet is available inside Terminal 1, but passengers must pay for an access card to be able to use it. These can be purchased from the airport duty free shops for a small charge.
- Wireless internet and PC access points are free to users of the airport's lounges.
- There are also a couple of free-to-use internet access kiosks in Terminal 1, close to Gate 2.
- The Abu Dhabi Airport Hotel has a business centre, with telephone, fax and internet facilities, which can be used for a fee of Dhs 25 ($7) per hour, and Dhs 15 ($4) per 30 minutes.
- Payphones can be found inside the terminals and can be used to make both local and international calls. These accept credit cards and local currency, or you can buy telephone cards from the duty-free shops.
- The UAE has two local mobile phone networks, called Du and Etisalat. One of them will connect automatically if you're using an overseas SIM card.
- The only post office in Abu Dhabi airport is actually located outside the terminal next to the main car park. To get there from arrivals, go down the stairs or escalators to the ground floor then follow the exit signs, which will take you outside towards a series of car rental and bank counters. It's open from 9.30am to 9.30pm
- A post box can be found inside the domed hall of Terminal 1.
